Eesti Evangeelsesse Luterlikku Kirikusse kuuluvad kõik selle kogudustes ristitud inimesed.
Liikmed on koondunud 167 kogudusse üle Eesti. Väljaspool Eestit asuvad kogudused moodustavad EELK Välis-Eesti piiskopkonna. Igas koguduses kuulutatakse Jumala Sõna, ristitakse ja leeritatakse, laulatatakse ja maetakse, toimuvad osadusõhtud, laste- ja noortetöö. Jõudu mööda aidatakse abivajajaid, peetakse üleval nii sotsiaalmaju kui vanadekodu jm.
Eestis teenivad kogudusi umbes 145 vaimulikku.
